Located in Sarasota, Fla., Nathan Benderson Park is a unique 600-acre community park that includes North America’s premier 2,000-meter sprint rowing course and a regatta center.
One of a handful of sites in the United States identified as having all of the natural attributes that make up a world-class rowing and recreational facility, Nathan Benderson Park began hosting organized regatta competitions in 2009.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of Nathan Benderson Park. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, maintenance, and vendor management. As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the park's facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance staff, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the maintenance staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage the work order system, ensuring all maintenance requests are logged, prioritized, and completed in a timely manner.
- Manage all vendors and contractors, ensuring they are performing to agreed service levels and budgets.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure all facilities, including the rowing course, boathouse, picnic areas, playgrounds, and restrooms, are maintained to the highest standard.
- Conduct regular inspections of all park facilities and equipment to identify maintenance issues and ensure timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and costs.
- Assist in the development and management of the facilities budget, ensuring expenses are controlled and projects are completed within budget.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, and the public.
- Manage the procurement of all supplies and equipment required for maintenance and operations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all park employees and visitors.
- Establishing a team environment with all departments with an understanding of the support needs for events, team training and Community activities. This will require support from this department and staff for activities and events on the weekends.
- Maintain and evaluate the water quality and overall water maintenance of the park.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in docks, boats and aquatics.
