POSITION OVERVIEW

The TG Field Technician is responsible for job site IT mobilizations, site change and demobilizations. This position supports and assists with implementing Kiewit Technology Group policies and procedures. They must be self-managing and make sound business decisions to deliver projects on time and under budget.
TG Field Technicians are also the escalated point of contact for all technical issues that cannot be resolved remotely. They assist in technical remote support when needed. They serve as team members by providing on-site technical support for those items escalated. TG Field Technicians are also responsible for providing a consolidated point of contact for Kiewit employees with technical support needs.

LOCATION

This position is remote but with an extensive travel up to 90% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide quality customer service that exceeds customer expectations
  • Provide customers with technical guidance or direction in office and on jobsite
  • Immediately notify appropriate individuals, including manager, of any issues that could potentially impact production activities and follow escalation to keep the impact minimal
  • Perform small scope installation of cabling, audio visual, network equipment
  • Make business decisions regarding procurement, service providers, low-voltage wiring subcontractors, etc.
  • Document all mobilizations, site changes, demobilizations with clear, concise explanations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage and supervise (as required) subcontractors in relation to work required to deliver IT services or a functioning product to job or office facilities
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers, team members, department contacts, vendors and subcontractors
  • Procure IT equipment and software
  • Prioritize and organize work to meet requirements, goals and deadlines
  • Collaborate with the business and KTG for IT estimates
  • Provide deskside and remote support to Kiewit employees, Kiewit subsidiaries, partners, contractors working for Kiewit and jobsite contractors
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (40+ lbs)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Extensive travel throughout United States
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Work well individually and with teams
  • Capable of using attentive and active listening skills to gather requirements and assess situations.
  • Must have good organizational and documentation skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Operating, Online and Back Office systems
  • Knowledgeable with Apple devices and Apple iOS (iPhone and iPads)
  • Have a strong desire and ability to learn new things
  • Must have good attention to detail
Preferred:
  • Associates degree in computer science, MIS or a related field
  • Experience with ticketing system - ServiceNow
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting computer software and hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot personal computer and peripherals
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

This position is eligible for a company credit card to cover expenses and overtime pay.

Base Compensation: hourly $31.25 - $40.86.
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
