Profile Summary
The Lead Financial Analyst is a vital member of the Resolution Life US Financial Planning & Analysis team’s US GAAP and Statutory quarterly/annual reporting, analysis, and forecasting activities. This role will focus on analyzing key measures and metrics to ensure that financial information is delivered to colleagues at all level in a clear and concise way. The role will partner with groups across the organization to help develop the annual Business Plan and monthly forecasting process, including assessment of capital adequacy for our Statutory entities.
Profile Description
  • Management Reporting:
    • Prepares, analyzes, and reports on complex financial information for their assigned area(s) of responsibility across multiple bases of accounting (GAAP and STAT).
    • Prepare concise and informative presentation for leadership capturing key metrics and results for the period.
    • Analyzes results of studies, reports, surveys. Prepares complex reports/analyses including analysis on balance sheets, income statements, annual/quarterly reports.
    • Identifies financial analysis issues/concerns and recommends mitigation solution(s) to management.
    • Leading ad-hoc analytics and projects as requested.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Developing a multi-year bottom-up capital forecast in partnership with business areas and Finance organization.
    • Working collaboratively with other independent reviewers and challenge partners.
    • Build financial models that help forecast business outcomes under various scenarios.
  • Capital Management:
    • Understanding the overall regulatory capital framework and monitoring the ongoing changes to assess the potential impact on capital.
    • Examining and identifying the drivers of historical variations in capital
    • Support Rating Agency meetings and presentations
    • Support preparation of quarterly and annual Bermuda reporting activities
Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics (or related field) and/or equivalent experience
  • 6-8 years of related experience required;
  • Experience with insurance or reinsurance specifically with Life and Annuity products is a plus
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Decisive communications skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
  • Ability to handle complex tasks, meet deadlines, and take initiative with minimal oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, and experience with reporting and forecasting tools such as Adaptive and Workday preferred. Analytical, mathematical, and Microsoft office skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Experience with visual database such as Power BI, Amazon QuickSight or Tableau a plus.
Location: West Chester, PA or open to remote for the right candidate in EST or CST time zones. If remote will be required to travel up to 15%.
For roles being performed in New York City, Resolution Life is required to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary for the role. This base salary range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making base salary decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Resolution Life, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, allowing for future salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,500 - $173,200.
