The Front End Manager will begin the day by checking the schedule to determine how many checkers are currently working to coordinate breaks and lunches. Throughout the day this position will check go-backs, place them into one basket and take them back to their proper areas on the store floor. They will walk through the departments and check the bathroom for cleaning checks. They will follow up with the various departments for product information, and sometimes provide the customers with rain checks for items. They will also follow up with the meat department to ensure proper pricing, and check the temperature of the food in the kitchen. This position requires that they maintain the store front area cleanliness at all times.

With regard to money handling, this position will do pre setups of the registers from the store safe, with the appropriate amount of $200 with designated bills and coins. A safe log in sheet is utilized. Loans may be coordinated by the Front End Manager for cashiers. The Front End Manager receives shift end cashier reports for any underage or overage. This position will double check the drawer to locate any errors. Orders will be cancelled by the Front End Manager for various customer reasons. This position is also responsible for counting the safe three times per day. Additional responsibilities conducted on a daily basis are facing the aisles when not busy, overseeing or personally retrieving shopping carts, opening and closing the back door for receiving, closing and locking all of the doors at night, and finally, preparing the register for the following day by dumping the trash, wiping down the register area, and restocking the plastic bags.
