Job Description Summary: Overview:
Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at the University of Kansas accelerates research by connecting scientists to resources, facilitating collaboration among researchers, communities, and institutions, and offering education and training. Frontiers CTSI transcends disciplines to seek innovation and improvement in health care by supporting the researchers of today and tomorrow. Supported by a five-year (2022-2027), $27 million grant from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences of the National Institutes of Health, Frontiers is part of a network of over 50 hubs nationwide that work to improve the translational research process.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Administrative Director of Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the incumbent will work closely with the Principal Investigator(s), Executive Director, Associate Director(s), Administrative Director, and Core Leads to prepare and manage the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) budgets, prepare quarterly and annual financial reports, process invoices, payments and reimbursements.

This position works a hybrid work schedule and the anticipated salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 annually.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or similar field

Work Experience

Previous experience doing the following:
Run, analyze and interpret budgets and make appropriate recommendations

establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and other staff members

effectively organize, manage multiple tasks and work independently

explain financial information (reports, budgets, requirements, etc.) to various stakeholders and levels of the organization

prioritize tasks appropriately and meet deadlines

Computer skills using with Microsoft Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications:
Education

Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, or related field

Work Experience

Experience with Workday, Qlikview, MySponsoredProjects, and eRA Commons

Skills

Analytical, highly organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills

Job Duties Outlined:
Track and report the spending of Core CTSA budgets

Track and report the overall composite CTSA budget, any CTSA supplement funding, and cost share

Work closely with Research Administration to prepare and submit annual budgets and budget justifications for annual progress reports using the MySponsoredProjects and eRA Commons systems

Collaborate with the KUMC Research Administration Contracts Office to execute subcontracts using MySponsoredAgreements

Verify grant and time/effort using the Employee Compensation Compliance (ECC) application

Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for the CTSA and supported projects

Process requisitions for payment of invoices

Perform data gathering, computations, analysis, and presentations to provide financial recommendations and projections

Participate in program projects and initiatives as assigned

Complete expense reports for Frontiers leadership

Perform other duties as assigned
