SCV Senior Center is a non profit organization dedicated to serving the Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley senior population.
Summary:
Responsible for month / year end adjusting journal entries and financial reports. Daily routine and repetitive duties will follow established procedures to accomplish accurate business records for the organization. Position is primarily related to the accounting department, but may require assistance in other departments. We are a non-profit serving the Senior Community with responsibilities to our users, board of directors and community. The position will report to the Controller and will take direction from other members of the accounting and administrative team. Salary will be based on candidates experience.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for preparation of monthly financial reports
- Responsible for month end close by preparing journal entries of prepaid expenses and accruals
- Responsible for monthly bank , AR and AP reconciliations
- Assist with audits and record keeping
- Charge credit cards and reconcile credit card statements
- Strong Excel skills required, pivot tables
- Ability to learn and work with several software platforms
Qualifications:
- Education - BS in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 5 plus years in bookkeeping / budgeting experience a plus
- Experience in Sage100 or ERP accounting software required
- Non-Profit or Grant Accounting a plus
- Strong MS office proficiency required
- Positive mindset and team player
- Disciplined, well organized and detail oriented
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
