Operations Manager Assistant - Garden Center Gift Shop
Blumen Gardens, a leading garden center and gift shop located in Sycamore, Illinois is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Operations Manager Assistant. If you have a passion for plants, an eye for detail, and a knack for managing day-to-day operations, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the garden center gift shop.
- Assist in managing inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Help maintain visual merchandising standards to create an appealing and welcoming shopping experience.
- Assist with customer inquiries, providing exceptional service, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the team to implement effective marketing strategies to promote products and events.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Assist in training and supervising retail staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and provide excellent customer service.
- Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, scheduling, and preparing reports as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably within a garden center or similar environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, and floral arrangements is preferred.
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
- Flexible availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
