Job Summary
In this new, individual contributor role, the Global Supplier Manager will be responsible for maximizing the value and supplier effectiveness across Equinix's Global Network & Infrastructure services portfolio by ensuring that the suppliers, and their performance, are managed appropriately to support the seamless provision and availability of quality products and services. The role will include development of the supplier management practice, creating dashboards and reporting on periodic KPIs & metrics to ensure and manage the overall effectiveness and evolving maturity of the supplier management practice across the service estate.
Responsibilities
Build, enhance and mature a strong Supplier management practice within our Global Network & Infrastructure Services org
Engage, influence, and evangelize Supplier Management practices with internal stakeholders to align technology service excellence
Help team members of the organization grow their skills and experience
Drive Continuous Improvement culture and ownership across entire supplier management practice
Ensure that Equinix Global Network & Infrastructure Services suppliers and their performances are managed appropriately to support the seamless provision and availability of quality products and services
Creating and maintaining a supplier process, policy, and updated supplier information
Manage R&M support contracts and annual renewals across the Global Network & Infrastructure Services supplier estate.
Oversee supplier performance, cost, value-add and SLA adherence from a Service Operations perspective
Act as a senior escalation point for Supplier related issues
Key Deliverables
Running and participating in Supplier Management reviews and Quarterly Business reviews with other cross functional supplier management colleagues
Delivering Supplier Management reporting into Senior Leadership and the wider business
Onboarding / Offboarding Suppliers (both small and large scale service providers) across a range of Network products and services, carefully managing Service integration
Globalizing Supplier Information and standards
Implementing and running Service Improvement Plans for underperforming Suppliers
Negotiate third party contracts from a Service Operations perspective
Develop and maintain a supplier management dashboard / metrics reporting - highlighting key performance of the Supplier Management practice and in-progress and completed improvement initiatives
Continually review the E2E Supplier Management practice and ensure links into internal agile development team backlogs
Partner with Asset Management team for asset information relating to specific suppliers
Employ CI tools & techniques to optimize process value streams, removing waste and enhancing service levels to internal & external customers
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working in a Supplier leadership role across multiple suppliers
ITILv3/4 certification required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience
Supplier management for global enterprises' IT/Networking (NOC) is strongly preferred
Experienced building and implementing a Supplier Management playbook, operationalizing supplier management programs, processes, SLAs, SIPs, on/offboarding, etc.
Experience in managing Supplier relationships with high profile suppliers
Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint; experienced with Smartsheet, Tableau or similar applications
Experience in communicating at a senior level
Proven delivery of Continuous Improvement initiatives
Ability to build strong relationships with peers, suppliers, and 1st / 2nd level leaders both internal and external to the company
Enthusiasm for collaborating cross-functionally and cross-product to identify and lead the ongoing support of the global platform
Ability to clearly communicate, both writing and verbal formats, processes, procedures, changes, complex details; able to explain technical attributes
SIAM Certification desirable
