Summary
Job Summary
The Government Programs Coordinator assists Cox HealthPlans in achieving conformance with government regulations. This position works in collaboration with the Government Programs Director to advise Cox HealthPlans leadership and staff and helps to develop processes and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. This position will review regulatory updates and facilitate changes. The Government Programs Coordinator will report to the Government Programs Director.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in public health, health administration, or related field required
Experience
Preferred: experience in health insurance
Preferred: experience in Qualified Health Plans
Preferred: experience in Medicare Advantage
Preferred: experience reading regulations
Skills
Knowledge of governmental & other regulatory standards, requirements, & guidelines related to quality improvement, such as AAAHC, NCQA or URAC
Knowledge of personal computers and software
Knowledge of computerized programs
Knowledge of principles of statistics, preferred
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff and network providers
Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position
Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality
