Summary:
Nisga’a Tek is seeking Graphic Designers at multiple job levels to provide visual media support.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage document and media information structure and accessibility of information.
- Design and produce rough layouts of art.
- Design products using a variety of mediums including video, print, broadcast, teleconferencing, and electronic means.
- Copy with respect to arrangement, size, type size and style and related aesthetic concepts.
- Use image editing software to produce professional quality media product delivery in a variety of formats.
- Interfaces with users to determine scope of project and best medium.
- Interfaces with agency and technical staff to assure quality products delivered on time and within budget.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience with all multi-media devices.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office Products (especially PowerPoint and Word)
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
- Expertise in graphic design- Print and Digital design (Print: Publications, Newsletters, Posters, Books, Magazines, Brochures, etc.), (Digital: Websites, interactive PDF, social media, etc.)
- Expertise in digital large format ink jet printing, high quality laser printing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graphic Designer Level I: Has up to 3 years’ experience and a BA/BS degree or certification. This labor category is responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.
- Graphic Designer Level II: Has 4 to 10 years’ experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree or certification. Typically performs all functional duties independently.
- Graphic Designer Level III: Has over 10 years’ experience and/or a MA/MS degree or certification. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific project/task.
- Graphic Designer Level IV: A Subject Matter Expert (SME) has qualifications and/or particular expertise that are exceptional and/or highly unique. SMEs do not have specific experience/education qualifications but are leaders for a given area of expertise. SMEs typically initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs. Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges/issues; consults with client to define need or problem; supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Certificate or Associates Degree with three years’ experience.
