Greeter, Full-time (Temporary)

*This is a full-time, temporary position for 3 months with the possibility of being extended.*

Summary

The Greeter welcomes patients and visitors with warmth and compassion. The Greeter is responsible for assisting patients and visitors with transportation needs, providing patient information, and other support to access hospital/physician services smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Patients may be accompanied to their destination or physician’s office, ensuring efficient transport of any belongings.
• Security CCTV is monitored as required and security is informed of any suspicious activity.
• Transportation may be arranged for patients, visitors and volunteers per department guidelines.
• Persons smoking are redirected to designated smoking areas.
• Accurate patient information is provided from the patient database and in accordance with HIPPA standards.
• May assist inpatient and staff mail sorting per department guidelines.
• Security contact is maintained at all times and in accordance with security standards.
• Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Education/Degree

Required

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

Required

• Previous experience in health care environment dealing with patients preferred.

Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)

Preferred

• Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
• Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
• Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
• High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
• Attention to detail.
