Ideal candidates will be willing to work in a team environment and have some previous experience with some knowledge of diesel engines and/or trailers. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Grounds/Facilities Technician

Full-Time: Shift can 4 or 5 day, negotiated upon hire

Pay: $18-$28 an hour

Job Summary: Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for Go Fast and Shiocton Cut Stock facilities; ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; and performs related work as required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

*Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate *Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, as reassemble equipment *Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices *Diagnose problems and determine how to correct them *Maintain professional and respectable look of the facilities by painting and cleaning of common areas and rooms *Respond to reported maintenance issues/problems *Inspects the facilities for potential maintenance problems and informs the Executive Director of such problems *Maintains outdoor grounds-Lawn care, snow removal and keeps outside premises neat and orderly *Orders and maintains supplies including but not limited to, paint, light bulbs, etc *Performs routine interior maintenance of facility below the journeyman level; minor plumbing tasks; repairs, performs other minor painting tasks; replaces light bulbs, as needed, and performs other minor electrical tasks, i.e., repairs and replaces switches, receptacles, repairs and replaces broken window screens, doors, roofs, gutters, and other small carpenter tasks

Required Skills/Abilities:

*Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed *Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it *Equipment Selection – Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job *Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems *Time Management – Managing one’s own time *Attention to Detail – Observing surrounding areas to determine what needs cleaning and tidying

• Additional technical training in mechanical, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, tiling, and/or plumbing a plus

Education and Experience:

• Previous maintenance experience desired.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position listed above including the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, walking, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $18.00 - $28.00/hour.
