Summary:

We are looking for an Operator who is experienced with operating Bulldozers and Excavators. It would be preferred if you've worked with Grade Control systems as well.

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the follow types of equipment: backhoe, bulldozer, font-end loader, track hoe, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates production equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Move hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered operating equipment.
• Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
• May be required to manipulate equipment on unlevel working surface.
• May assist in lifting, position and securing or materials and work pieces during installation.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
• Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
• Performs Daily Inspection and Completion of Daily Equipment Inspection Checklist

Other duties as assigned periodically by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment; however, common operating sense is necessary. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
• Hand/eye coordination, depth perception important
• Must be able to drive cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment
• Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
• May be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects
• May operate hand and power tools of all types
• Climb and maintain balance on equipment
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
• Position may require prolonged sitting
• May assist other craft workers as needed

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $31.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
