ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Secondary Science Teachers at Eastern Panhandle Preparatory Academy located in Kearneysville, WV dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. We are seeking teachers who are passionate and dedicated to bringing the curriculum to life for each student. Founded in 2014, ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) across the United States. We manage a network of over 70 charter schools within Ohio and surrounding states. Eastern Panhandle Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school opening in Fall 2022 for K-10 students. Located on a serene 30-acre, rural campus in Jefferson County, the school belongs to the acclaimed ACCEL Schools network and provides a college-prep curriculum aligned to state standards. A fully certified and licensed faculty promotes a culture of high expectations where students can grow academically as well as socially and emotionally. As a community-centered school, Eastern Panhandle Preparatory Academy builds strong relationships with our families, neighbors, and community organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year
• Work directly with all middle school staff members
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
• Utilize school approved curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicate and meet with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning
• Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities, as needed
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Active and current state teaching license in English Language Arts
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to properly manage confidential information
• Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working within an urban environment
