Human Resources Assistant FULLTIME - OPWDD Experience a plus! Brooklyn, NY Job at The Guild For Exceptional Children
Description:The Human Resource Assistant will be the point person for information within Human Resources Department. In addition, the HR Assistant will provide support to the HR department for all related administrative functions.
Essential Functions
- Responds to employee inquiries
- Submits applicant information to the (OPWDD) Justice Center via online data entry for SEL, CBC, SEL, MHL & SCR. Apprises the HR Manager when a report contains results from SEL, CBC, MHL, and/or SCR
- Conducts searches through NY License Event Notification System (LENS)
- On boards employees through HRIS system
- Meets with all new employees
- Creates ID cards for new employees (as well as replacement cards) using special ID photo software
- Ensures compliance with new hire probation process
- Ensures employee training is completed and tracks training through HRIS
- Ensures HRIS maintenance
- Conducts internal HR Audits (I-9, postings, etc.)
- Assists with external audits
- Responds to all verification requests
- Prepares documents for periodic mailings
- Performs special projects, such as staff appreciation, as assigned

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor degree preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years prior related administrative experience within a Human Resources Department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
