Cyber Security Professional III: $86,100.00-$104,400.00
Cyber Security Professional IV: $106,500.00-$125,800.00

Cyber Security Professional Job Description

Beast Code’s den is growing, and we are looking for a Cyber Security Professional to join our DevSecOps team. Not only will you support the Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) for our customers and business partners, but this Cyber Beast will also assist in maintaining the security of internal networks and applications. This critical position must be an independent, driven, multi-tasking ninja who can successfully manage Cybersecurity activities across multiple authorization boundaries. Such activities include not only expert analysis, consultation, and security steering, but also all the low-level, nuts and bolts actions that need to be taken to promote effective Cybersecurity and get the job done.

This position interacts with other businesses and stakeholders, so our Cyber Security Professionals must carry great communication skills in their toolbelt to complement their superior IT and analytical capabilities.

Your day-to-day will look something like this:

• Utilize IT knowledge to assist in implementing new technological systems securely
• Monitoring effectiveness of security controls through continuous monitoring
• Utilize cutting edge tools to monitor for vulnerabilities and threats
• Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for systems ranging from isolated networks to large-scale applications in the cloud
• Development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs)
• Develop and maintain key Cybersecurity artifacts and configuration items
• Security assessments to determine/verify system security posture across all National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) domains and compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
• Management of system Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)

Cyber Security Professional I
Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Typically
requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Cyber Security Professional II
Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several
aspects of the work. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Cyber Security Professional III
Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and
collaborative in nature. Typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.

Cyber Security Professional IV
A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team
lead role for the work group. Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.

Cyber Security Professional V
Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or
industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project
goal terms. Typically requires 10+ years of related experience.

You should bring these skills and knowledge to the table:

• DoD 8570 compliance: Security+, CASP+, CySA+, and/or other equivalent security certification
• Strong understanding of Operating Systems, Networking, and Hardware
  
• Understanding of firewall governance and security
• Ability to assess change within networks and systems for proper change management
• Knowledge of DevSecOps principals
  
• Knowledge of scripting/automation

Bonus Points if you have:

• Linux and Kubernetes experience

• Due to the nature of our work, it is mandatory that you are a U.S. Citizen and able to comply with Government regulations.
• Successfully complete a background check and maintain a valid USA driver’s license
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

This is an onsite position working out of our Fort Walton Beach office. You must live in the local area or willing to relocate - relocation assistance may be available to a rockin' candidate Beast Code must have on staff!
