DESCRIPTION

Derivatives Clearing Operations, part of ISG Equity Operations, provides functional support for Listed and OTC Derivatives activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our Institutional clients, Wealth Management clients, and proprietary trading desks. The organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected 'front to back' view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading.

The North American Trade Support Group (TSG) within Derivatives Clearing Operations is responsible for post-execution trade flow for futures and options contracts, on North American Exchanges. The role offers an opportunity to interface with the world's largest derivatives markets and directly support the Sales & Trading business units.

The Operations Associate is responsible for the management and supervision of critical functions including topday clearing through central counterparties, trade break resolution, position transfers, and process automation through Morgan Stanley's proprietary platforms. The position requires a focus on risk management and control with additional emphasis on the reduction of processing inefficiencies and increase in controls through process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of daily TSG functions for futures and options across North American markets including:
  • Resolving client, exchange, and risk trade breaks
  • Investigating and resolving topday clearing exceptions
  • Developing trade flow solutions to solve root cause gaps to create efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Representing the team and managing escalations with internal and external clients and stakeholders
  • Facilitating exchange trade entry, in PIT, EFRP, and transfer activities
  • Focus on risk management and control through maintenance of team processes and procedures
  • Resolution of client issues, with a focus on root cause analysis and risk mitigation
  • Lead daily team huddles, weekly team meetings and one-on-one's with Clearing TSG team members
  • Develop, analyze, and present key metrics to identify and solve risk and efficiency challenges
  • Facilitate team efforts to refine controls and continuously reduce operational risk
  • Build and manage relationship with key business stakeholders and Operations leaders
  • Acquire & demonstrate deep knowledge of the product and/or functional area for which they are responsible
