Janitorial Worker
The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Part-time Janitorial Worker for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County. This is a Contract Janitorial Worker Position with up to 40-Hours. The Janitor will be responsible for all custodial functions such as waxing and polishing floors, loading and unloading linen, and picking up supplies. This individual will be a backup for the housekeeping department. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.
Essential Functions:
This is skilled work in janitorial services and is responsible for performing routine maintenance and cleaning duties in a state institution. Incumbents are responsible for janitorial service functions such as waxing and polishing floors, loading and unloading linen, and moving supplies and heavy equipment. The janitorial worker works under the general supervision of a purchasing manager overseeing the operation of janitors.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, washing, waxing and polishing floors.
- Moving supplies and heavy equipment/Loading and unloading linen.
- Emptying trash cans.
- Salary: $12.50 per hour.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma.
Experience:
One (1) year of related experience, six (6) months of which must be experience related to janitorial services.
