Who are we looking for?

SRE is a continuous engineering discipline that combines software development and systems engineering to build and run scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. This role will ensure that one of our Clients internal and external services have reliability and uptime as per agreed SLA. We also ensure a continuous improvement, while keeping an ever-watchful eye, automated, on capacity and performance.

This role will drive the DevOps mindset which strives to use software engineering to build and run better production systems. You will write software to optimize day to day work through better automation, monitoring, alerting, testing and deployment.

You’ll be expected to work with several Technology partners to identify areas of opportunity within the availability platform and build a solution to automate monitoring solutions for the next generation platform, technology and constant innovations to drive efficiencies. You will be responsible for implementing tracing, monitoring, tooling solutions to maximize the performance and availability of our Web applications.

Focus Areas/responsibilities:

• Analyze reliability challenges and develop automated solutions for incident resolution.
• The job requires hands on tasks that includes troubleshooting systems using your technical acumen to the best effect by utilizing existing knowledge and toolkits.
• Identify, define, and implement new tools and technologies for improving the quality and efficiency of distributed platform.
• Working knowledge of provisioning, automation and monitoring tools/portals
• Good understanding of system architecture, Operating systems and automation concepts
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
• Possess good knowledge of Infrastructure and App/Infra security areas.
• Ability to work in collaborated environment within team and with other cross functional teams
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a medium/large team environment

Technical Skills:

• Standing up and administer Kafka cluster. Strong experience with Confluent Kafka.
• Expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy, Replicator. Both Confluent and Apache Kafka.
• Solid understanding of Kafka architecture, how to save Kafka space.
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka, Linux/Unix systems.
• Use automation tools like provisioning using Docker, Bamboo, Harness and GitLab.
• Hands on commands usage of Kafka and all components.
• Ability to perform data related benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning.
• Solid knowledge of monitoring tools and fine-tuning alerts on Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
• Setting up security on Kafka (Setting different security mechanism in Kafka).
• Manage Kafka users and topics.
• Monitor, prevent and troubleshoot security related issues.
• Good knowledge on CI/CD pipelines
• Automation and scripting using Shell, python, Ansible, Salt stack

Process Skills:

• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
• Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting systems.

Behavioral Skills:

• Practice sustainable response and blameless postmortems.
• Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.
• Proven ability in developing relationships with stakeholders, communicating project/program status, and understanding detailed business<requirements across multiple project initiatives
• Good attitude, soft sills, learning skills.

Qualification:

• Somebody who has at least 3+ years of work experience in Kafka & related aspects
• Education qualification: BTech, BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
