The Laboratory Systems Development Specialist will provide technical expertise and leadership, including configuring, documenting, testing, modifying and maintaining software applications. Apply specific applications and technology expertise to the specification and design development process. Working with operations to lead the creation of system and customer facing documentation. Support all issues that arise within the specific application area. Job functions include configuring applications by translating the business requirements into software specifications. This role will directly report to Laboratory operations while establishing a close partnership with IT to mentor IT and LIS team members regarding application build, validation, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Primary Atlas Test Code builder collaborating closely with Outreach coordinator. Propose and/or configure code, test and troubleshoot existing programs. Analyze end user data and business needs to assure user-orientation and efficient program utilization, become subject matter expert in reporting tools (SlicerDicer, Reporting workbench, Performance Insight), be available to laboratory leaders for data analysis. Accurately and efficiently works to provide application workflow and functional analysis, build and configuration, unit and integrated testing, and plans for transition to application ongoing support. Understands workflows with the objective to meet business needs. Support and maintain Performance Insight reports and application. Document’s evidence of regulatory compliance. Represents IT during compliance inspections, addresses issues.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree Laboratory Science field or combination of education and related work experience
Experience
Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills for process development or problem resolution.
Demonstrated working knowledge and expertise of healthcare processes and application system coordination.
Demonstrated knowledge of database structure and working practice of reporting techniques and tools.
Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and provide customer support.
Preferred 5+ years of Laboratory or IT application experience
