Logistics Worker (Level 1, 2, and 3)
General Statement:
This part-time position is the support person for the guides and the overall operation of Trek &
Trail. It is vital qualities include excellent organizational skills, handy-work skills, and punctuality. Customer service skills are essential in dealing with the public.
This position works closely with the general public and the rest of the Trek & Trail staff. Must be a team player and maintain a cooperative, can-do attitude and positive relationships.
Necessary skills also include possessing oral and written communication experience, above average problem-solving ability, and basic math. Basic computer knowledge for the scheduling system is also essential.
Essential Functions and Related Tasks:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) Provide a high level of customer service at all times. Project and maintain a positive image on behalf of the Trek & Trail during the course of performing the duties of the position.
2) Exceptional level of self-motivation is required for this position. Must have ability to be motivated and productive at all times and particularly when owner is not present.
Position requires a high level of common sense and ability to make judgment calls in absence of owner.
3) Daily tasks include loading boats and equipment for trips, driving shuttles for customers, preparing boats and assist with loading boats for rental customers, maintaining the vehicles, boats, and equipment, repairing boats and equipment as needed, maintaining the grounds and building, making sure appropriate paperwork is completed, making sure adequate supplies are available, and assisting with reception when necessary.
4) Ability to:
- Communicate and work effectively with customers, the general public, and staff
- Work independently and effectively in the course of carrying out assigned duties
- Work cooperatively with other employees, vendors, and agencies
- Carry out written and verbal orders efficiently and completely with minimal supervision
- Help maintain all devices, equipment, and tools used for the job and to operate all equipment with care to insure the preservation of equipment, prevent injury to other employees and the general public, and prevent property damage
5) Perform related duties as necessary and assigned

Level 2 Duties Also Include:
1) Perform fiberglass boat repairs, and other complex repairs on boats, equipment, and overnight gear
2) Ordering supplies and materials for boat repairs, shop maintenance, and overnight gear
3) Provide expert knowledge for new boat sales
Level 3 Duties Also Include:
1) Primary contact for food service and food pick-up coordination
2) Responsible for organization of all gear and establishment of system for gear check- out/check-in designed to reduce lost/damaged equipment
3) Responsible for and oversight of Bunkhouse maintenance
4) Responsible for establishing Logistic Workers schedule, assisting with Guide schedule
5) Serve as Guide resource, management advisor
Qualifications:
A) Must be capable of carrying out tasks efficiently and productively in absence of supervision
B) Excellent customer service skills
C) Knowledge of basic computer functions and operations
D) Must have, and maintain as a condition of employment, a safe driving record
E) Must have, and maintain as a condition of employment, access to dependable transportation

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. The Coop Worker will be frequently required to sit, stand, and kneel for extended period of time, walk over rough or uneven surfaces, work in unpleasant surroundings, talk, hear, navigate stairs, and lift heavy objects such as kayaks over 50 pounds, sometimes unassisted.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work frequently with a motor vehicle, small engine powered equipment, hand tools, work in indoor, and outdoor settings. Lighting and noise levels will vary from day to day. The outdoor settings will present various types of weather conditions. The employee will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, precipitation, fumes from paints and epoxies, gasoline and fuels, and cleaning supplies; vehicle exhaust, etc.
The employee will be exposed to allergens and unpleasant conditions.
