Lounge Lead Job at Scissors & Scotch

Scissors & Scotch St. Louis, MO 63144

What makes Scissors & Scotch (Scissors as in hair, Scotch as in booze) such a great place to be? Well, it starts with a culture that prioritizes people and understands that solid relationships with clients and employees matters most.

Working at Scissors & Scotch means you get it all…awesome clients, signature drinks, a fast-paced environment, and the ability to move up in a growing company. As our Client Services Lead you will be essential in the operation of not only our barbershop, but also our cocktail lounge.

If you think this could be you, these are the expectations:

  • Hire and supervise the best people in the customer experience game—like we said, the experience is what matters most.
  • Support and maintain a culture centered around our core values (listed at the bottom so you don’t have to go searching our site for ‘em—but we certainly encourage you to check us out on there too.)
  • Serve as a resource for our client services team on processes and policies and ensure they are followed.
  • Create and maintain the best damn client experience with every client –remember this role is vital to the overall success of our team.
  • Be proficient in MyTime and Revel –don’t worry we have an excellent training program to get you up to speed
  • Strategic scheduling—you’ll work with your GM to ensure proper stylist to lounge ratio
  • Create hand-crafted cocktails for clients before or after their service — this is an experience, when we say hand-crafted that means all fresh ingredients too
  • Inventory and ordering for liquor and bar supplies—see previous point
  • Strong knowledge (or a willingness to learn) in scotch, bourbon, whiskey…Scissors & Scotch (as in booze)

Which leads us to what we’re looking for in a leader:

*
Vibe match—that you’ve made it this far indicates we’re off to a good start.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills—we are industry leaders in customer experience for a reason.
  • Experience in delegation, holding others accountable, and communicating across a dispersed group of employees-we know this isn’t always easy, but we also know it’s essential for your team to feel that they can rely on you to make the difficult decisions.
  • A track record of maximizing results through leadership and management of others-yes, past performance as indicator of future results, we’ve read the books too.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hiring, training and overseeing a large staff—I don’t think this one needs much more description.
  • The ability to work full-time, variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Strong desire for continued growth and personal development—yes, you will be required to read the books and take the classes.

At Scissors & Scotch we don’t only offer the best haircuts and drinks in town, we also offer the best customer service. When we say we understand relationships matter most, we mean it. Sure, that attracts the best in the industry, but, most importantly, that attracts the best human beings. When we hire the best, give them the best training, and treat them the best, those top people end up sticking around.

And, because you can’t pay your bills on good vibes, here’s a rundown of some seriously sweet benefits:

  • Competitive Pay
  • Opportunity for Raises every 6 months
  • Commission on memberships
  • Opportunities for growth in a fast growing company
  • Paid Parental leave (we never want having a baby to hurt your career)
  • PTO
  • Full benefits (health, vision, dental, and disability insurance)
  • Christmas, the day after Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Labor Day , Memorial Day, Easter, 4th of July, New Year’s Day… all off work!

And as promised, here are our core values:

  • Be a daymaker. We say we’re the best part of your day. And we mean it. We’re confident the S&S experience will leave you looking good, feeling great and saying damn. What’s our secret? Passion, positivity, enthusiasm, and flashin’ them pearly whites to everyone who walks in the door.
  • Create real relationships. We’re relationship people. We care about our clients, employees and communities. We communicate, listen and learn. We create and foster connections, hold ourselves accountable and establish trust. And, the pinnacle of all successful relationships, we make a mean Old Fashioned.
  • Push your limits. Give change a big ol’ hug and invite it to stick around – because as far as we’re concerned, the only comfort zone we need is a plush sectional sofa for the occasional binge sesh. We credit pushing our limits for many successes along the way and don’t ever expect it to stop.
  • Embrace your weird. At the end of the day, we’re in the business of making people feel good about themselves. Sit back and relax. Have a drink. Have some fun. Be weird, be kind and keep things in perspective.
  • Give a damn. We hope and expect ourselves and our employees to, simply put, give a damn. What does that mean?Stay committed to greatness and hold themselves to a higher standard. Expect excellence, do more with less, always raise the bar, lead others and be humble.

To conclude, we’re looking for Day Makers and Push Your Limits people driven to be their incredible best. Sure, giving a great haircut and making an awesome drink are important, but so is damn good customer service. And that is just the beginning. If you want and opportunity that challenges you, lets your unique personality shine, and gives you the chance to grow each year both financially and professionally, Scissors & Scotch should be your new home!
