Reporting to the Managing Director, AmeriCorps Strategy & Partnerships, the Manager will support teachers in one of the country's largest teacher residency programs. The position will play an integral role in managing a portfolio of Relay's AmeriCorps State and National grants. The AmeriCorps Manager will join Relay's effective, dynamic, and diverse national AmeriCorps Team to ensure the seamless and uniform implementation of Relay's AmeriCorps program across the country.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • AmeriCorps Grant Management
  • Oversee portfolio of South, Northeast, and Midwest Relay campuses
  • Execute enrollment and exit of Relay AmeriCorps members in the national portal (eGrants/My AmeriCorps)
  • Produce various periodic fiscal and programmatic state commission reports
  • Lead member document collection and maintain files to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Lead file monitoring and coordinate (in collaboration with Relay campuses) state commission site visits
  • Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and potentially useful information for program improvement and grant reporting
  • Periodically prepare grant procurement documents requested by the Director, AmeriCorps & Public Funding or state commission
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with AmeriCorps program officers
  • Liaison between Relay campus and AmeriCorps state commission via monthly check-ins
  • Support and consult Relay AmeriCorps members; foster connection to national AmeriCorps service
  • Occasionally engage with VP, Policy & Government Affairs in communication with legislatures and other policy makers
  • Participate in required state commission meetings and monthly calls as needed
  • Ability to travel overnight (once regular travel resumes and is safe)
  • Communication & Problem Solving
  • Seek to problem solve Relay campus and member concerns, while effectively prioritizing multiple projects/tasks
  • Keep abreast of grant terms and conditions and AmeriCorps policy updates
  • Draft timely, error-free, and clear communications to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Collaborate effectively and positively within and across teams
  • Proactively flag concerns for the team and Managing Director, AmeriCorps Strategy & Partnerships
  • Actively seek feedback from people who may think differently
  • Open and transparent communication about strengths and areas for improvement
  • Additional Projects (as assigned)

QUALIFICATIONS
First and foremost, the AmeriCorps Manager must share the Relay community's commitment to working together to improve P-12 student growth and achievement through phenomenal teacher preparation grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. Additionally, we're looking for candidates who possess a combination of the following:

  • A minimum of 4‒5 years of professional experience
  • Previous experience with mission-driven organization (AmeriCorps alum preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and meticulously within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated adaptability and resilience
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to navigate, work across, and invest multiple stakeholders
  • Desire to work in a healthy and positive team environment
  • Demonstrated passion for urban education and dismantling systems of oppression
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

COMPENSATION
Relay is committed to creating and maintaining a compensation and benefits system that supports our ability to recruit and retain a diverse and talented team. As we make decisions about compensation, we will be guided by the following values: clarity, consistency, and internal equity. The salary range for this role is $74,250 to $111,375. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range and can expect their salary to be placed at the beginning of the range to allow for an equitable starting salary process and continual salary growth during an employee's time at Relay GSE.
To ensure internal pay equity:

  • New hires are not eligible for a salary at the high end of the role's salary range,
  • All staff salaries will be capped at the salary range maximum, and
  • Relay does not negotiate salary offers.
