$41.793 - $53.926 - $66.059


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.


What You Will Do

The Manager of the Prebys Innovation and Education Center (PIEC) Experience is responsible for the coordination and planning of activities and special events in the PIEC. The manager is also responsible for creating an overall 'Sharp Experience' for all who visit and participate in the PIEC. This is accomplished in coordination with the functions housed in the PIEC; Sharp Foundation, Castor Institute, Simulation Center and Innovation Center.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 Years related work experience.
  • Event planning experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a world class visitation and/or conference center.
  • Experience in Healthcare.

Other Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field; or 2 years event planning experience in lieu of degree - Required.

Essential Functions
  • Key Responsibilities
    Manage the scheduling and logistics for the center. In coordination with the key groups, establish a calendar for the center.
    Establish operating guidelines and policies.
    Use experience design principles to build a 'prototypical visit that helps exemplify the Sharp Experience.
    Provide event planning services for internal and external groups using the center.
    Assure smooth operations for visits and events, including use of audiovisual technology and streaming (where needed).
    Manage communications from and about the center including video content on display.
    Help build revenue from sponsorships and product placement.
    Manage the PIEC Experience Budget (does not include the budget for the Castor Center and Simulation Center).
  • The Manager will manage a cross-functional team that will draw from across the organization:
    o Room scheduling
    o Video Content (Marketing team)
    o Communications (Marketing team)
    o Audiovisual technology and operations (IT; dedicated)
    The Manager will facilitate the teamwork and scheduling of the functions that operate in the PIEC:
    o Castor Nursing Institute
    o Simulation Center
    o Foundation
    o Innovation center
    o Food service
  • Human resource management
    Maintains appropriate staffing level within assigned area.
    Hires qualified personnel by working with recruitment, performing interviews and making hiring decisions.
    Recognizes individual and team accomplishments.
    Addresses all personnel behavioral issues via Sharp HealthCare’s performance management process and conducts coaching as directed by Manager.
    Completes staff appraisals within 30 days of its due date according to SHC performance evaluation standard.
    Ensures department’s efficiency by overseeing the patient scheduling process.
    Effectively communicates with direct report staff by holding regularly scheduled staff meetings utilizing written agendas and meeting minutes.
    Routinely disseminates pertinent information and instructional resources.
    Addresses employee concerns related to the work environment and process improvement.
