Position Summary:

With minimal supervision, coordinates delivery & implementation of block and longitudinal courses for first- and second-year College of Medicine (COM) curriculum.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Director and Senior Medical Education Program Coordinator, assists with coordination of daily instructional activities, assessment, course evaluation, communication, and general problem solving for block and longitudinal courses first and second year College of Medicine courses.
  • Follows-up and tracks student attendance and incomplete quiz completion in the M1 and M2 curriculum. Reports and tracks issues with the Phase 1 Attendance Policy.
  • Monitors and responds to student emails and communications via Slack. Assists Associate Dean with bi-weekly communications with students, faculty and staff. Attends and provides feedback to the Slack Strategy Committee.
  • Under the direction of the Director, acts as OCA liaison providing support to the Student Curricular Board and other co-curricular student groups including the Mentors Program.
  • Participates as an ex-officio member in College of Medicine curricular planning committees.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned, including M1 and M2 Orientation, COM exam proctoring, and other student events.


Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below:

A. College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems.

Please Note: Completion of the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Programs Certification (TAGME) from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators qualifies applicants for each level of this series.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in data collection, research, education, or medical field.
  • Knowledge of a variety of accreditation standards for medical education programs.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting.
  • Experience in Excel, Word, Doodle Poll and Zoom
  • Ability to make independent decisions. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and physicians. Excellent oral and written communication skills
