NUTRITION/FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR

District Wide 8.0 hours/day 210-220 contract days/year

Position Summary: Overall supervision of the Mora Public Schools daily food and nutrition services operations. Basic responsibility includes the supervision of the food service employees, and the implementation and coordination of food service to ensure high standards of nutrition and education, financial accountability, food production, maintenance of safety and sanitation standards and student service. Mora School district is a category Small SFA (≤2,499).

Essential functions include program evaluation, menu planning, food production, food safety, procurement, financial management, recordkeeping, food service personnel management, food service safety training and program accountability and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with an academic major in Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Nutrition Education, or Culinary Arts and Business OR Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, with any academic major or area of concentration, and either a School Nutrition Association (SNA) Level 3 Certification or at least one year of relevant food service experience OR Associate’s degree or equivalent, with an academic major in Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Nutrition Education, or Culinary Arts and Business and one year of relevant food service experience OR High school diploma (or GED) and a minimum of three years of relevant food service experience.
• Eight hours of food safety training preferred, ability to complete within 30 days of hire required. Previous experience working in a school nutrition or food service setting, School Nutrition Association Certification, or MDH Food Protection Manager Certification preferred. Must pass a criminal background check.

Salary: Starting at $50,000 to $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience
