Located on the beautiful Oregon Coast, Waterfall Community Health Center has an immediate opening for an Occupational Therapist. This is a full-time benefitted position that includes medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance with premiums for the employee fully paid. Waterfall is also pleased to offer a $3,500 signing bonus to be paid upon completion of your first pay period, and a 401K match at six percent (6%).
The OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT), functions in a team and mission-based setting to provide assessments and related diagnosis, consultation, education, brief therapeutic interventions, and referral for occupational therapy services for a diverse caseload for adults, adolescents, children, and families experiencing autism spectrum disorders and other developmental challenges.

Pay: $82,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Under the general direction of the CIO, oversees service delivery of trauma-informed care, and monitors quality control issues to maintain the highest standard of service.
  • Adhere to Waterfall Community Health Center's mission with a focus on removing barriers to care.
  • Manage program activities in adherence to organizational and contractual requirements and assure timely completion of all documentation related to the program.
  • Build trust and rapport with internal and external customers as well as community partners.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluation findings, including all areas of motor development—fine, gross, visual, and sensory as well as primitive reflex integration, handwriting, keyboarding, executive function skills, social-emotional skills, ADLs, etc.
  • Provide training to parent/guardian on treatment techniques; maintain positive working relations with clients’ families; respond to guardian questions in a timely and professional manner,
  • Collect statistics and prepare reports as directed and needed for the Organization.
  • Project and quantify the need for additional medical, psychological, social, speech, and applied behavioral services for clients.
  • Coordinate with Department Manager to maintain the quality of cases including evaluating occupational therapy data and implementing data-driven program changes.
  • Act as a Liaison between area schools, school-based health clinics, integrated behavioral health, social health, and local pediatric providers. Facilitate involvement on campus and improve outreach to local student populations.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and deal tactfully and patiently with clients.
  • Support program goals to reduce culture and socio-economic barriers between clients and institutions committed to working with marginalized and diverse community populations.
  • Continuously expand knowledge and understanding of community resources and services. Facilitate coordination of community services needed by clients.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to be credentialed with Medicaid, Medicare, private and other insurance within the scope of licensure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Must be fiscally focused and mission-driven.

Education and Experience:
  • A Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college/university with a focus on Pediatrics is required.
  • Unrestricted Oregon Occupational Therapy License and National Board for Certification in Occupational

Therapy (NBCOT) Certified to practice as it relates to Occupation Therapist is required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in healthcare or a similar setting as an Occupational Therapist, with

Autism in a pediatric population is a plus.

  • Hepatitis B

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk working at a computer.
  • Able to lift to 25 pounds rarely.
  • Able to travel as needed (rarely).
