Requirements for Business Office Manager:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting
- 1 year administrative/clerical/accounting experience
- 2 years of experience in billing or accounting in health care; insurance transactions and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement systems
Responsibilities for Business Office Manager:
- Account Management: Collect payments, Complete daily deposits and Cash journal, Manages petty cash, Verify statements from Medical Vendors are correct, Code, and forward to AP, Review aging for credit balances, Provide insurance information to ancillary providers, enter ancillary charges in Vision (Lab, X-ray, pharmacy, transportation, etc.) provide copies of claims, EOB's, and other needed information to Rehabcare or Insurance Company for ADR's
- Resident Trust Account: Set-up RTA in Vision for new residents, Assist residents with their personal spending accounts; making deposits, provide cash withdrawals or writing checks, Ensure posting to accounts and reconcile monthly, Enter Hair Care and Television Charges into Vision, Inform beautician of account status weekly, Submits monthly status report to Medicaid Residents to Administrator, Check payer on Case Mix Report quarterly
- Medicaid Tracking: Conduct Medicaid Assessments at the 20-day mark, Educate the resident/family on requirements to apply for Medicaid; assist with the process as needed, Assist with scheduling/rescheduling appointments for Medicaid applications, Monitor private pay residents and when Medicaid will be needed, Submit MPA-24 and/ or Level of Care to Medicaid, Track progress of applications by checking website for approval, Send request to Social Security, Have from completed for CCC to become responsible payee, Assist with pending Medicaid
- Accounts Payable: Collects, codes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner, Maintains departmental spend down report, Collaborates wit Program Support Center Accounts Payable to assure invoices are processed in a timely manner.
