Description
The Energy and Environment Cabinet, Office of Administrative Services, Division of Human Resource Management, Operations Branch mission is to provide the highest quality customer services to all agencies in the cabinet.

This Office Support Assistant position offers a rewarding and exciting opportunity to work with a group of dedicated professionals who provide mission critical services to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Serves as primary daily relief staff for the EEC switchboard. Answers inquiries and provides information to general public and other state government employees via telephone and in person. Receives complaints and general information requests from the public. Does research and notifies proper personnel. Maintains up to date data base for the EEC 300 Sower Directory. Facilitates cubicle tags for new EEC staff within 300 Sower.
  • Manages cabinet security program and facilitates security ID requests. Serves as primary cabinet contact for all security issues and is liaison to Finance Cabinet regarding staff ID requests. Coordinates with cabinet staff to ensure procedures for securing access to all state buildings within the Energy and Environment Cabinet are followed.
  • Assist in the operation of the cabinet Motor Pool program by processing and working with drivers on vehicle recalls, maintenance reminders, etc.
  • Assist the Wireless Coordinator for OAS and provides assistance to agency coordinators across the cabinet. Maintains a monthly data base of wireless charges for the cabinet and forwards to the Operations Branch Manager for review.
  • Serves as primary backup for mail pickup and delivery and daily treasury runs across EEC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Branch Manager.
Preferred skills and knowledge may include but not limited to the following;
  • Self Motivated.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
