Our Skilled Nursing Facility and Rehabilitation Center is in search of a Per-Diem Speech Therapist in the Tampa Bay/Brandon area.

As a Speech Therapist, you will organize, and conduct speech/language programs to assist with rehabilitation for our residents. You will be tasked to restore, reinforce, and enhance the necessary skills and functions that are essential for communication and swallowing.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instructs residents in their use
• Select appropriate activities suited to the individual’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level and interest
• Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident
• Instruct residents in the skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluates resident progress, attitudes, and behavior, as related to rehabilitative potential
• Adapt programs according to the needs of the individual residents
• Attend and contribute to resident care, staffing, and other related meetings
• Conduct training programs and participates in training medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques and objectives
• Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards
• Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights

Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited Speech-Language curriculum certified by the American Speech/Language/ Hearing Association.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in FL.
• Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
• COVID-19 vaccination is a must
