Position Summary

The Personal Auto Consultant will interact with hundreds of customers online every month, guiding them through our hassle-free online car buying experience. You’ll primarily be responsible for assisting the customer navigate from the beginning stages of their vehicle purchase to finalizing their deal and setting up their method of delivery.

In the beginning stages of the online purchase process with the customer, you can assist the customer with a need analysis to identify a specific vehicle. Once the vehicle has been identified and located, you will introduce the customer to the dealership sales and customer financial services associates and answer any questions about our up-front, transparent pricing. If the customer needs assistance with financing/leasing, you’ll coordinate that entire process including answering questions about our Finance & Insurance products. In addition to guiding the customer through the online vehicle selection and financing process you will also assist with the appraisal of any vehicle the customer may want to trade in through our online appraisal process. Once all aspects of the vehicle purchase are complete then you may discuss final pricing with the customer. Once the customer agrees and finalizes their deal the personal auto consultant will coordinate with the customer whether they’d like to pick the vehicle up from the dealership or have it delivered directly to them. The personal auto consultant is responsible for making sure the customer has an excellent experience from beginning to end while maximizing profit for AutoNation dealerships.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for responding to all inquiries from consumers that are looking to purchase their vehicle online
  • Coordinates with the dealership and facilitates and guides the consumer through the entire vehicle purchase.
  • Answers any questions or explaining to the consumer the process of purchasing their vehicle online.
  • Arrange all documents from the consumer purchase for the dealership they will be taking delivery at.
  • Makes all required follow up calls, emails and texts to the consumer about their purchase
  • Collaborates with the finance team on proper finance products the consumer may need

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an automotive dealership environment
  • Minimum 5 years experience in inbound sales, eComm and phone process skills
  • Minimum 3 years experience with using an automotive customer database such as eLead Preferred
  • Proven ability to multi-task, solve complex requests/problems
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, consultative, interpersonal, and organizational skills on the phone and in writing
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software programs
  • Experience using Microsoft Applications (outlook, word, teams, etc…) preferred
  • High school diploma or the equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred
  • Must meet company’s requirements for employment.
