Oakwood Health and Rehab is looking for an In-House Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Rehab team in Bedford, VA! This person will develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with physical, mental or developmental conditions. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities.

Uniquely located within Central Bedford Memorial Hospital, Oakwood Health and Rehab Center provides exceptional post-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing care. Nestled in the foothills of the Peaks of Otter, Oakwood is designed to create a unique experience for those in our care.

Formerly part of Centra Health, and now under new ownership, Oakwood has been infused with clinical and operational enhancements to take our care and service to the next level. Our dedicated team of physicians, nurses, therapists and other health care professionals provide personalized and exceptional care at leads to shorter recovery times and more thorough healing.

Responsibilities:

• Administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
• Assure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
• Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers
• Monitor patient response to treatment intervention
• Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations
• Consulting with patients to learn about their physical condition.
• Assessing and interpreting patient evaluations and test results.
• Developing treatment plans using avariety of treatment techniques.
• Developing treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniquesfor patients.
• Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.
• Advising patients on exercise techniques.
• Advising patients and their families about in-home treatment options.
• Providing educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health.
• Consulting and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
• Documenting patient care history.
• Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures.
