As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), working under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to meeting the needs of our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to help teach clients effective coping strategies for their functional limitations and mobility issues. Your tasks will include treatment planning, administrative duties, patient education, and self-care support, as well as maintaining accurate records with our cutting edge EMR.

Job Details:

  • Monday-Friday 7 am-1 pm or 1 pm-7 pm shifts (30 hours per week patient care).
  • 10 hours per week Caseload Building Strategies and Documentation

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
  • Active TX PTA license.

Job Duties:

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in assessing and treating patients.
  • Provide patient and family education and support for addressing physical, emotional, and self-care needs.
  • Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate treatment programs and obtain consent from patients who may have communication barriers.
  • Provide timely information to the relevant team members about the patient's performance.
  • Actively participate in program planning.
  • Implement the treatment plan as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assist patients with activities such as transfers, walking, and safe mobility.
  • Provide assistance to patients with cognitive, perceptual, and physical programs.
  • Help conduct group activities/exercise programs.
  • Monitor and report changes in the patient's health status to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using clinic's cutting edge EMR and other software.
  • Order prescribed assistive or adaptive equipment.
  • Assemble and set up therapy equipment.
  • Assist with patient preparation activities, such as escorting patients, preparing patients for treatment, dressing, preparing files, etc.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist with patient therapy, such as moving and handling, bilateral limb movements, two-person gait training, etc.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each
