Wage: $90,000 - $110,000

Career Opportunity:

Silgan Unicep is searching for a Plant Controller to direct the finance and accounting functions for our Spokane, WA and Sandpoint, ID plants. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team. We are looking for a proactive person who will play a key role in delivering superior business partnership to our organization. The position will be based at our manufacturing facility in Spokane, WA.

How You Will Impact Silgan Dispensing Systems:

  • Responsible for all plant finance and accounting functions including A/R, A/P, Inventory, Fixed Assets and General Ledger

  • Coach, develop and manage a team of 5 direct reports

  • Act as the primary financial partner to the business leadership team identifying EBIT and margin improvement opportunities

  • Manage the monthly close, forecast, and annual plan

  • Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and explain results in detail to division management

  • Perform ongoing review of internal controls to ensure accounting procedures and financial reports are in compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and Silgan internal accounting policies

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Oversee IT administration

  • Work in close liaison with SDS corporate finance and accounting teams




Job Requirements:


What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus

  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, supervisory experience a plus

  • Demonstrated leadership of teams and/or projects

  • Possess a solid understanding of standard costing systems and inventory valuation

  • Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and related financial systems; experience with Sage (or other modern ERP system), Planful Analytics or Business Intelligence software a plus

  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal

  • Able to communicate complex topics in an effective and concise manner

  • Process-driven; proven analytic and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to see the “big picture” while maintaining a strong attention to detail
