Schedule
Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (flexible in consultation with supervisor), 40 hours/week, generally Monday-Friday. Some weekend/evening hours are required. Some travel is required for activities in Fairfield County.
Supervision
The Pro Bono Counseling Program Director reports to the Executive Director. Position is exempt.
Responsibilities
Pro Bono Counseling Program (PBCP):
- Lead, plan, and execute the PBCP
- Recruit mental health professionals to volunteer their time to see clients
- Provide support and oversight to volunteers as needed
- Market program to recruit both volunteers and clients
- Conduct brief clinical assessments of clients to screen for appropriateness
- Manage wait list of clients prior to linking with clinicians
- Match clients with clinicians based on client need and availability
- Refer clients to the Get Connected program and/or providers in the community, as necessary
- Cultivate community relationships to collaborate on services and expand network of locations for counseling sessions
- Track outcomes of clients at designated intervals and prepare appropriate reports
- Manage program development and expansion, in conjunction with the Executive Director and the strategic plan
- Manage administration of PBCP grants and prepare grant reports
- Manage the PBCP budget in conjunction with annual agency budget planning
- Develop and implement program standards, policies, and procedures
- Manage the PBCP database and identify needed improvements
- Maintain and apply knowledge of legal, ethical, and practice issues in mental health professions
- Work with marketing team to update website as program information changes
- Plan and manage volunteer appreciation activities
- Perform public speaking for groups wanting more information about PBCP
- Represent MHAOhio on committees and on other outside agency assignments as needed; develop and maintain relationships with mental health agencies, mental health organizations, and other affiliated organizations
- Participate in strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making for overall agency growth, structure, and employee needs
- Work with MHAOhio Board of Trustees under the direction of the Executive Director
Fairfield County Client Navigator:
- Oversee the program operating in Fairfield County
- Manage administration of Fairfield County ADAMH funding, other potential funders, and prepare grant reports
- Manage the Client Navigator budget in conjunction with annual agency budget planning
- Supervise the Client Navigator
Support Groups:
- Oversee the program operating in Franklin and Fairfield counties
- Manage administration of Franklin and Fairfield County ADAMH funding, other potential funders, and prepare grant reports
- Manage the Support Groups budget in conjunction with annual agency budget planning
- Supervise the Support Groups Program Manager
Other duties, within reason and scope of the position’s primary duties, may be assigned after consultation with employee and supervisor
Benefits
- Salary range is $60,000-65,000, commensurate with experience and other qualifications

Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in social work, clinical counseling, or related field
- Current licensure with the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board
- Clinical counseling and assessment experience
- Passion for mental health
- A minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- A track record as an exceptional communicator, in writing as well as verbally
- Excellent, demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding decision-making skills and judgment, including discretion in the management of confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse people and communities, contribute to a collaborative team, and be people-centric
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Independent licensure with supervisory designation
- Clinical assessment skills
- Volunteer management skills
- Experience with web-based databases and Microsoft Office products
- Strong writing skills or grant writing experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
