Reporting to the Senior Director - Operational Strategy, the Product Manager is part of a team of Business Analysts supporting Brookfield Renewable’s US Trading and Marketing platform. This position is primarily focused on Energy Trading and Risk Management tools (ETRM) and Market Interfacing tools (OATI, Hartigen). This position is located in our New York office working in close relationship with the Front Office user group, US technology team and team members responsible for the Mid and Back Office user groups.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze and document specifications for ETRM software issues, enhancements and updates;
- Collaborate in developing test plan and test cases;
- Test system configuration changes;
- Coordinating with end users and internal support groups for all changes, preparation and implementation;
- Management of user acceptance testing (UAT);
- Facilitate sessions, interviews and analysis to identify areas for process and systems improvements with the Front Office user group and Technology team;
- Critically evaluate business requirements gathered from multiple sources and identify the underlying business needs;
- Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)/Business Concept Document (BCD), including functional and non-functional requirements;
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans;
- Inventory of business users developed automations and related documentation
- Inventory and index disparate knowledge base articles based on a standard convention;
- Assist in the integration of new assets to our portfolio;
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with decision-makers, system owners, and end users to analyze information needs and functional requirements to evaluate the cost-benefit trade-offs for enhancements;
- Suggest to the system user’s ways to improve the effectiveness and performance of processes and procedures;
- Keep abreast of business changes and requirements;
- Ensure the how-to Documentation are up-to-date and complete;
Requirements
- Understanding of Energy trading and Risk management tools (ETRM);
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner.
- Strong focus on the customer and delivering to business outcomes.
- Experience with Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines and new challenges;
- To be results driven and tenacious;
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills;
- Able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations;
- Knowledge of business analysis, quality assurance, and workflow tools and/or practices;
- Demonstrated experience documenting “as is” processes and then based on business requirements creating the appropriate “to be” business processes;
- Expertise in business process analysis, data analysis and requirements documentation, including strong skills in related diagraming and modeling toolsets;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a Product Manager/business analysis capacity, working in an Energy Trading Entity or equivalent;
- Experience in ETRM business applications (knowledge of Pioneer TRM Tracker, OATI Webtrader and/or Hartigen is an asset);
- Experience in electricity physical or financial markets is an asset.
