Hexcel is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Comply with and understand all safety rules and job hazards. Perform job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner. Support and enforce all safety rules and procedures. Promote safety in the workplace by maintaining acceptable housekeeping conditions and a positive employee attitude toward safety and accident prevention.

Lead, guide and direct the daily work activities of department employees in support of the Company’s production, quality and safety goals.

Effectively and consistently, handle employee issues as they pertain to established employee relations policies including planning work schedules, monitoring performance, controlling attendance and disciplinary problems, and assuring employee conflict resolution.

Monitor daily operations for production and machinery problems to ensure that such problems are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner in support of the Company’s production, quality and safety goals.

Direct and assist in the training of all department employees including facilitation of regular employee communication/safety meetings, conducting annual OSHA required training, conducting new employee department orientation and ensuring effective on- the- job training.

Maintain an effective level of communication with other departments within the plant in support of the Company’s, safety, quality goals and production.

Monitor department inventory levels and associated cost to ensure that product levels and supply levels are adequate for production requirements.

Communicate with other plant supervisory personnel on issues or concerns that occurred during the shift.

Assist in creating, editing and deleting work instructions, job descriptions, standard operating procedures and other department related documents.

Manage and operate within the 5S and lean guidelines/principles.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree in business or technical field preferred. Three - five years' production experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; ERP/MRP experience preferred.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement techniques; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Demonstrated oral and written communication abilities with the ability to speak to large groups and to provide effective group and individual training.

Demonstrated self-motivation with excellent interpersonal skills.

Regular attendance on company premises is required.
