Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The successful candidate will work independently to provide administrative support for the Program in Individualized Medicine (PrIMe) including the Multidrug Resistance Gene (MDR1) service center. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to receiving and responding to phone calls and emails from pet owners and veterinarians regarding the program; data entry and administrative processing of program samples, tracking and submission of service center client billing; reconciliation of invoiced services and service center program revenue; tracking of program supplies/consumables inventory; preparing service center financial reports and providing backup for other employees within the unit as needed.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for a Program Coordinator , applicants must have:
  • High School graduation or equivalent and two years of experience working primarily with a computer-based app or program OR equivalent education/experience.

To be considered for a Veterinary Specialist 1, applicants must have:

Associate's Degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited school of veterinary technology OR Equivalent education and experience as defined by the *Washington State Department of Health Veterinary Technician licensing requirements; AND must be licensed as Veterinary Technician in the state of Washington within six months of hire.

  • WA State department of Health Vet Tech licensing requirements:
Applicants must meet one of the following:
  • Graduation from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited school in veterinary technology.
  • Graduation from a two-year curriculum in animal health or veterinary technology which is not accredited, plus a minimum of 36 months of full-time experience under the supervision of one or more licensed veterinarians.
  • Licensure as a veterinary technician in another state and 36 months of full-time experience.
  • DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine.

Required for all applicants:
  • Experience to include scheduling, ordering and tracking inventory, and/or billing of customers.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills and data management proficiency and data management proficiency.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel and Access.
  • Demonstrated excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications for all applicants:
  • Experience working with pet owners and/or veterinarians, or other service-oriented business.
  • Experience working with on-line ordering or with an on-line business.

Monthly Salary:

Program Coordinator : Range 38 | $1,548.00 to $2,058.50 (Step A-M, prorated to 50% FTE)

Veterinary Specialist 1: Range 37 | $1,512.00-$2,006.50 (Step A-M, prorated to 50% FTE)

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
