The Program Manager will focus on reducing risk, identifying potential losses due to accidents and injuries, compliance violations, or hazardous conditions. This position is accountable for providing support and guidance on program development and implementation at the assigned distribution center.

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Helps the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing actions.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Provides direction and leadership guidance to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results.
  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action.

EHS Management

  • Communicates key expectations and program goals to leadership and employees to ensure the distribution center promotes a proactive attitude towards safety.
  • Partners with local AP, Operations and HR team to drive engagement and achieve business results.
  • Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.
  • Ensures that managers and supervisors have the tools and resources to ensure legal and operational compliance to REI best practices and local, state and federal regulations.
  • Oversees training and development of employees managed and makes effective staffing choices.
  • Acts as a liaison for corporate and regional EHS and AP colleagues for a coordinated approach to program development.
  • Conducts audits, inspections and sweep throughs of assigned facilities to maintain compliance to company, local, state, and federal agency regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Assists the facility management team with developing action plans to address EHS deficiencies.
  • Reports findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, and/or environmental testing.
  • Validates and reports on facility health and safety trends including incident frequency, severity rates, incident trends and worker’s compensation claim metrics
  • Develops inspection programs for facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to be administered to identify and correct potential hazards and maintain safety regulation compliance.
  • Recommends process and product changes to reduce employee exposure to workplace hazards.
  • Conducts Job Hazard Testing and other hazard assessments including ergonomic evaluations.
  • Assists with emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures including validation, review, and documentation.
  • Supports worker training in areas such as safety regulations, company health and safety policies. Including safety equipment, violence in workplace, incident investigation, hazmat processes and disposal, and relevant industry issues.
  • Manages Return to Work program in partnership with Worker’s Compensation
  • Maintains communication between Supply Chain Management & Corporate Risk & Safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, REI provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.

The pay for this role is: $72900 - $116800 per year .
