This is a professional position which supports the Local Behavioral Health Authority’s (LBHA) role of system development, management and monitoring. This position monitors services, programs, and behavioral health providers in the Prince George's County Public Behavioral Health System to assure the provision of effective and efficient quality behavioral health services. Activities include complaint investigations, tracking provider audit results, correction of deficiencies and problem solving difficult patient situations, identifying treatment options for individuals in need, and behavioral health program monitoring. This position will on very rare occasions require evening or weekend work hours for work-related activities and community events.

Examples of Work


  • Monitors the quality of services, programs and mental health professionals including, but not limited to: inpatient programs, residential services, partial hospitalization programs, outpatient clinics, free-standing clinics, residential rehabilitation programs (RRP), psychiatric rehabilitation programs (PRP), respite care, DUI program, opioid treatment programs, therapeutic nurseries, school-based mental health programs, crisis services, residential treatment centers (RTC), supported employment programs, mobile crisis teams, private mental health practitioners (e.g., social workers, counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists) and other licensed community based mental health services.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with agencies, community organizations, private providers and hospital systems.
  • Responsible for written evaluations of community-based services conducted in compliance with State and Federal regulations and quality assurance.
  • Provides accurate information on programs, services and providers to internal and external customers and the general public.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in business or public administration, social service, sociology, psychology, or other fields; plus one (1) year of responsible work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possess experience in the behavioral health field
Experience monitoring the compliance of programs and services

DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible, which becomes effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
