PSYCHIATRIST , Tampa FL

The Psychiatrist manages the mental health care and provides appropriate treatment services to diagnose and assist persons with mental illness.

• Monday-Friday + On Call Schedule based on operational needs
• The Psychiatrist must hold a current Florida Medical License and is certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and has satisfactorily completed resident training of three (3) years in psychiatry at a recognized institute and has a valid DEA License.
• Compensation commensurate with experience

SUMMARY:

The Psychiatrist manages the mental health care and provides appropriate treatment services to diagnose and assist persons with mental illness.

• Perform diagnostic evaluation on patients with mental health disorders, make diagnosis, and prescribe appropriate medication management.
• Evaluate patients and comply with all the requirements within 24 hours of consult request
• Completes required documentation for all clinical services provided and maintains up-to-date clinical records per timelines required of Gracepoint and area hospitals. Uses the electronic medical record and electronic prescribing program approved by the agency.
• Coordinates the delivery of clinical treatment services with other clinicians and support services staff. Provides consultations and referrals to other clinical staff, outside providers and other agencies.(Review and approve all treatment plans-delete this-included above in required documentation)
• Continue professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences, and self study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

Holds a current Florida Medical License and is certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and has satisfactorily completed resident training of three (3) years in psychiatry at a recognized institute and has a valid DEA License. Must have satisfactorily completed fellowship training of two (2) years in Adult psychiatry or have five (5) years of experience treating Adults
