Psychiatrist: Child & Adult Job at Northlakes Community Clinic
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Psychiatrist - Adult & Children to join our team! This position is open to remote/Telehealth employment but individuals must be a resident of Wisconsin, Michigan, or Minnesota. This position will support our adult and children patient populations.
The Psychiatrist promotes, maintains, or restores mental health through the study, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, injury, and other physical and mental impairments. Providers focus their practice on promoting prevention, taking histories and examining patients; prescribing medications; order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures. Providers will work as part of a team to promote health and wellness. The Psychiatrist will also provide clinical supervision to our team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and support psychiatric clinical programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes data concerning a patient's family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from patient, relatives, and other sources such as other providers.
- Assesses, diagnosis, and treats patients with psychiatric disorders and identifies risk factors for such disorders.
- Examines patients to determine general physical condition.
- Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluates data obtained.
- Determines nature and extent of psychiatric disorder, and formulates treatment program.
- Treats or directs patient-centered treatments, utilizing medications and other methods.
- Plans and administers therapeutic treatment by telephonic/ telehealth methodologies as indicated by patient needs and state guidelines.
- Provides accurate documentation of services and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients.
- Collaborate with other providers and clinical support staff to form a high performing medical team.
- Coordinate care delivery with primary care providers to promote continuity of care.
- Provide clinical supervision to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
- Participate in peer consultations.
- Remain current with developments and best practices in medicine.
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree (MD or DO)
- Board Certified in Psychiatry
- Current, valid, and unrestricted license in Wisconsin to practice the profession
- Experience with adults, adolescents, and children required
