The Role
BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION: Efficiently performs set-up, running, and monitoring of any of the Slitting machines. Personnel will assist in the training and supervision of new operator trainees. Ensures that the machines are running on his/her shifts are producing a quality product in an efficient manner. Assist in the packaging and moving of materials.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: 1. Strong knowledge of math related to company processes and procedures. undefined. Strong mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail in slitting procedures. undefined. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill as it relates to slitting procedures and company processes. undefined. Beginning knowledge of other department’s procedures as it relates to film construction, winding techniques, shipping procedures and metallizing process. undefined. Working knowledge of relevant customers and suppliers. undefined. High school graduate. One or two years of college or four year military service preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: 1. Efficiently performs set-up, running, monitoring, and troubleshooting (as required) of all the slitting machines. undefined. Exercises strong working knowledge about the defects associated with Finished Goods materials and can make all required judgements as to a film’s quality and usability. undefined. Prepares slitting documents, core-tags, box labels and quality documents and training documents without immediate supervision. undefined. Assists in the packaging of materials when needed including making boxes, packaging material, stacking packaged material on pallets, and moving pallets of completed film. undefined. Assists in the training and supervision of less experienced operators. undefined. May occasionally performs lead operator responsibilities when lead operator is not available. undefined. Properly and thoroughly informs the relieving shift and department superiors about machine and production status, material processes, department or job needs and priorities, and problems of observations. undefined. Strictly follows standard operating procedures, set-up specifications, supervisor’s instructions, safety regulations and housekeeping policies. Provides regular suggestions and feedback to Slitting supervisors concerning department problems, process improvements, machine operation and safety hazards. undefined. Ensures, indirectly, that all phases of the Slitting operation are performed in an efficient manner.
