Job Summary
The Corporate Quality Control Engineer will develop, manage, implement, evaluate, and improve upon the day-to-day operations of Quality Control & Quality Assurance programs to ensure that all products meet the quality, integrity, and durability standards.
Responsibilities
- Includes all manufactured and sourced finished goods and accessories.
- Understand customer needs and requirements. Develop effective quality control processes.
- Oversee returns and warranty claims data, processes, and activities, and ensure proper and timely execution.
- Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
- Develop and implement action plans to eliminate the causes of failure in collaboration with the appropriate departments, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
- Develop and present relevant data / information needed to implement acceptable corrective action plans.
- Evaluate suppliers from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
- Monitor quality reports, customer scorecards, sales feedback, and direct customer input to assess whether their requirements are being met.
- Participate in, and assesses, weekly product audits and test data, to develop recommendations for improvements / changes.
- Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.
- Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
- Work with finance team to set / manage the monthly warranty accrual based on historical and expected risks and costs.
- Develop and design appropriate reporting regarding product, customer and supplier related quality status, main error focus, frequency, cause, responsible party, and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or other related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a manufactured products quality manager
- Certification of quality control (ISO 9000), 6-Sigma, and/or Lean Manufacturing is a strong advantage.
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures.
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- Proficient in MS Office
- Conscientious and responsible
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office
