The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for the Quality Management System at the WIKA Sensory Technology manufacturing facility, a business unit of WIKA USA. This position will help to lead, implement and design all necessary quality functions around the QMS. This role will oversee and direct all functions associated with Quality Assurance (quality planning, management, and improvement) and will work closely with Operations Management, Engineering and Process Engineering. The Quality Systems Engineer will also be responsible for the implementation of an Aerospace Quality Management System in accordance to AS9100 D.

BASIC PURPOSE:

The Quality Engineer is responsible to support the Quality Management System at WIKA Sensor Technology. This role will support the Quality Manager to implement and maintain all necessary quality functions around the QMS. The Quality Engineer will maintain functions associated with Quality Assurance (quality planning, management, and improvement) and will work closely with Operations and Engineering.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

- Manages the existing QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D and ISO80039

- In partnership with the General manager, drive proactive change management to a process-focused QMS

- Supports Continuous Improvement activities to ensure quality expectations are achieved including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

- Manages process and procedure modifications and production improvements to meet all QMS needs

- Manage measuring equipment calibration activities.

- Revises and Implements standard processes and procedures including applicable documentation.

- Coordinates with Engineering and Production for root cause analysis

- Assists Engineering with validation of design and specification changes

- Implements “process” thinking on the QMS

- Leads FMEA's, driving capability analysis on development and released product, initiating, participating and driving corrective action, analyzing measurable process indicators for process control

- Recommends modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability as part of process control

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills with experience in working with personnel across different levels to drive change

- Must be able to serve as a Change Agent to influence others in following best practices and requirements

- Strong Communication Skills

- Experience in a manufacturing environment with technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment

- Solid background in Quality Tools & Methods

- ISO 9001 Quality Management System knowledge required

- Understanding (theory and application) of Total Quality and Lean improvement methodologies.

- Strong attention to detail

- Team oriented individual

- Some Domestic and International travel required

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Quality or Industrial Engineering or equivalent a plus

- AS9100D experience a plus
