Albemarle Corporation is seeking a Quality Systems Leader (QSL) to lead the establishment of IATF 16949-compliant quality management systems (QMS) at existing and new plant sites in North and South America. The QSL will work with site Quality, Operations and other personnel to identify and implement all QMS elements necessary for IATF 16949 compliance. The QSL will also focus on QMS harmonization between Asia Pacific (APAC) sites, and North and South America sites (APAC region has a QSL counterpart).

The QSL will report to the North America Regional Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategy and approach for implementation of IATF-compliant QMS at new plant sites
- Lead QMS improvement initiatives including IATF gap analysis at existing sites
- Create a roadmap and implementation strategy to transform QMS globally to be IATF compliant
- Coordinate with QMS leaders to ensure standardized implementation of QMS across all global sites
- Update existing and create new QMS policies and procedures, as necessary
- Develop training material related to QMS including IATF, and lead training implementation within the organization, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
- Oversee adherence to ISO standards, automotive standards, pharma standards and ALB quality service standards
- Apply deep understanding of quality best practices with business acumen and customer focus
- Demonstrate strong communication, influencing, and change management skills while consistently making timely decisions even in the face of complexity
- Maintain safety and quality mindset while demonstrating Albemarle Core Values.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, and familiarity with ISO 17025. Accreditation as auditor / lead auditor in each standard preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 or RC 14001
- Proficiency in APQP, MSA, FMEA, SPC and PPAP
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Quality Management with 5+ years of relevant experience in chemical manufacturing and quality management
- Data-based decision making ability, problem solving, prioritization, and risk-based management skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty while operating in a global environment
- Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from all cultures
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 25%)
