Purpose
Provides nursing services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care for all residents. This position is Full Time (40 hrs. per week) Assisted Living from 5am to 1pm & 1pm to 9pm any day of the week including weekends.
Essential Functions
- Participates in admissions, discharges, and evaluation procedures for all residents, to ensure appropriate assessments and documentation are completed in a timely manner and meets State and Federal requirements.
- Conducts nursing assessments, administers professional nursing services, and monitors nursing care services and treatments administered to all residents.
- Assists with Telehealth/Telemedicine appointments.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and revisions of the residents’ service plans;
- Oversees medication administration, ensuring adequate ordering, receiving, documentation, safe storage and disposal of physician-prescribed medication for residents. Conducts regular review of medication documentation.
- Works in conjunction with the Clinic Manager to ensure resident assessments are completed in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
- Responds to the Emergency Call alarms. Assesses residents’ physical and mental conditions, performs first aid and takes other appropriate action as indicated.
- Communicates effectively with healthcare providers regarding orders, nursing services, and changes in residents’ conditions.
- Informs residents’ families of changes in the residents’ conditions.
- Promptly reports concerns or complaints to the Assisted Living Manager. Communicates effectively and courteously with residents, families, and visitors.
- Participates in orientation and training of new employees.
- Performs annual employees’ and residents’ PPD skin testing/screening. Administers other immunizations ordered by physicians in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Oversees CNAs and Clerk to ensure proper resident services are rendered.
- Communicates effectively with other departments regarding residents’ care concerns or issues.
- Completes incident reports, conducts root cause analyses of incidents, and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Participates and assists during emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
- Participates in Quality Assurance Quality Improvement programs.
- Ensures compliance with all of the organization’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensures that all resident rights and responsibilities are protected and enforced; establishes and maintains a close liaison with residents and families.
- Assesses employee injuries or emergencies, performs first aid and takes other appropriate action as indicated.
- Maintains sufficient supplies and monitors proper operation of medical devices and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assists with the supervision and oversight of CNAs, CMA and Clerk. Conducts performance evaluations of assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 2-3 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Current State of Hawaii R.N. license and First Aid/CPR certification.

Proficiency in using a computer and applicable software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and and designated electronic medical records software (Health MedEx Vision software). Capacity to learn and master other applicable software applications.
