ABOUT THE TEAM
Knowledge Management is a team that strengthens and enhances the ability of SEEC’s workforce to achieve its mission and goals of supporting people to live their lives with choice and dignity. This happens through designing and implementing training, providing quality assurance, nursing and wellness services, behavioral support strategies, and by researching new practices to inform and drive the delivery of progressive, innovative services.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: (Summary)
People Supported.
- Conduct Initial Nursing Assessments
- Write Nursing Care Plans
- Complete self-medicating assessments and annual assessments for those who self-medicate
- Complete Health Risk Screening Tools (HRST) and review HRSTs for people supported by SEEC
- Monitor changes in health status of people supported
Workforce:
- Work collaboratively with the team. Communicate regularly regarding ongoing nursing assessments and audits
- Identify and work collaboratively to address staff concerns as related to delegation of nursing function and/or appropriate and safe supports.
- Oversee nursing functions performed by staff members; train staff on each care plan and medication administration, eMAR. This person-centered training may include proper positioning, skin care, seizure protocols, special diets, and other prescribed training. Document the training and file according to department process.
Administrative:
- Maintain certifications and license, and complete all trainings as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing, Maryland Department of Health, and the Developmental Disabilities Administration
- Maintain a professional working relationship with other SEEC staff
ABOUT YOU
- Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Maryland
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience preferably including in community-based services to people who have IDD.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize duties
- Comfort with using technology, such as the Microsoft Office Suite and client management databases (SEEC uses iCareManager), MBON website.
- Excellent written and communication skills. The RN will communicate with people supported, direct support staff, family members, health professional, and colleagues.
- Must be able to travel throughout Montgomery County
