Shalom House, Inc. has openings for a Residential Support Workers (RSW) to work at our facilities in Portland. This is your opportunity to join dynamic team of mental health professionals to provide psychosocial rehabilitation services in a variety of different programs. Some programs have the additional capacity of managing co-occurring conditions. These positions are responsible for assisting residents in carrying out skills of daily living and in utilization of community mental health supports as well as having knowledge of and assisting with the action steps of our residents current Individual Treatment Plans. Other duties include medication administration and/or supervision, overseeing and maintaining physical plant including housekeeping, maintenance, safety and supplies.

Minimum Requirements for Residential Support Worker position: High school diploma or GED with some experience in mental health work. Valid Drivers License Required. Must complete Mental Health Technician I coursework within 12 months of employment with Shalom paying for all needed training. Ability to be proficient in reading, writing and taking direction. Ability to set limits, provide role modeling for residents and be comfortable in teaching skills of daily living.

Experience working with adults with mental illness
