Description
- Report to Maintenance Manager, who provides general supervision and specific assignments.
- Supervises employees of the Clean-Up Department to ensure the processing plant is ready for the next day's operations.
- Supervises employees of the Clean-Up Department to ensure all product in the plant is properly put away before clean-up starts, assigns work stations and issues specific instructions.
- Maintains Time and Attendance records on personnel in this department.
- Reviews sanitation reports with USDA for specific or unusual tasks to be performed.
- Checks equipment and chemicals to make sure all are operating correctly and effectively.
- Ensures employees are trained with compliance of all safety standards and procedures.
- Monitors labor, overtime, supplies, and chemical usage to ensure acceptable cost levels.
- Properly stores all materials used on shift at the end of the clean-up operation.
- Re-checks complex to ensure sanitation of all departments and, ensures all equipment and water not being used is turned off correctly.
- Maintains a close working relationship with maintenance to ensure all equipment is maintained in good running condition.
- Maintains a close working relationship with Safety Supervisor to ensure all safety training, guidelines, and procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Maintains a close working relationship with USDA and Quality Control to ensure the plant is sanitary and ready to start on time.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience in sanitation or related area.
- Identifies with the values, philosophy, and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc.
- Ability to train and supervise line employees.
- Some basic knowledge of first-aid.
- Basic mechanical aptitude necessary to perform this position.
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Two to three years of experience in supervising people.
Identifies with the values, philosophy and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc.
Ability to manage people, coordinate different activities among various departments at the same time and maintain a smooth product flow.
Ability to communicate with persons on various levels, and ability to work with numbers.
